It’s true, I totally have a thing for Barnes and Noble. When I was a whee little girl (or 18) and I had just moved to Dallas I took a job at Barnes and Noble. It was the largest bookstore I had ever seen at the time and I loved going to work everyday to shill, shill, shill. I found amazing books and authors I would’ve never come upon if I hadn’t had to work the night shift constantly because of school. It was a great but short period of my life.
Anywho, I am super biased towards Barnes and Noble so I am excited they have come out with an audiobook app (Android only) AND are giving away a couple of free audiobooks with first time downloads. Not even tragic titles either, but titles such as Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, and the one I am super excited to listen to Choose Your Own Autobiography by Neil Patrick Harris. The titles will change weekly (it pays to read the fine print) so if the ones in the link aren’t to your liking check back next week. I’ve read all the current offerings so that’s what I’ll be doing!
Will this pull me away from Audible? We’ll see. I have a small library there and while I like audiobooks I prefer eBooks or a solid paperback most of the time anyways. My favorite is when the narrator is someone I enjoy listening to like David Tennant or Colin Firth so I tend to be picky when I do buy an audiobook.
