Lady Cordelia Almvere did not pack for a disappearance.

As the spring equinox bears down on them, Lord and Lady Almvere are determined to get to the town and away from the coach road of The Great Forest with all due haste. People disappear in the pressing forest. Or so the myths say. But when a forced stop at the new Dusk Inn turns into an unexpected stay, the Almveres find their plans upended. 

By morning, one of their dinner companions is gone. The last person seen with them is none other than Lady Joanna Calwick. Though the Calwicks have yet to warm to Cordelia, she won’t let a missing person go unanswered on account of bad manners. But as dusk settles over the tree line and the equinox reaches its height, will she become one of the missing as well?
