Between the Lines is a cozy mystery set in a fantasy world. The world itself is kind of a character with all the various “pages” the main must visit to solve the mystery. She’s a great character, an investigator in a hostile environment, someone with a big heart. She isn’t perfect as we see as the story advances. She might be forced to give up on some of her biased opinions about a certain organization before the end of the book. These biases led to some red herrings that are well done. I loved the side characters as much as the main. True imagination and fun rolled into one book. If you like mysteries, fantasies, cozies of any type, give it a look! 5 stars. I’ll be reading the second soon.

This was an adorable romp! I love how it started with a mischievous cat and an intriguing old lady next door … and it beautifully started the world building that I’ve loved so much in the rest of the series.

I loved this book! Takes place in SPINE, part of a book filled with a fantasy of worlds and characters within the pages of a book. Fiona, the lead character, is a private investigator winding her way thru the pages to solve adventurous cases. I can’t wait to see where Fiona and her band of friends take me next! You will not be disappointed! I received a free copy of this book via The History Quill Book Club.
