Welcome back to The Book of Larrakane Walking Tour. After touring The Elemental Chapter we’re continuing to follow in the steps of Investigator and page turner, Fiona Thorne, by heading for the Mortal Chapter.
A head for heights is required for our first location. We’re off!
Page of Humans, Restless Rise
In Restless Rise, her native page, she had loved to travel to the central peak from their home on one of the floating islands that revolved around it. – Between the Lines, Book 1, The Planar Pages
All the manors, houses, and buildings in Rise are on islands that float above the clouds.
If you travel here during the Midsummer Festival, you might get a glimpse of Queen Brilliance and her elegantly dressed retinue. When Fiona Thorne was invited to Court, revelers were dressed in green and birch flower costumes. Minstrels played lively tunes, the trill of flutes swirling as one with the flittering banners in the cool incense-filled night air.

Before we get lost, let’s head on to the next location on our tour.
Page of Earth, Kerus
They entered a part of the city Fiona had yet to see the likeness of: tall houses built around a central courtyard with a lush garden of date palms, citrus trees, and a bubbling fountain. Large arched windows shaded by the sort of stained glass one could only get in the Court of Copper created playful spectacles of light and color inside the homes. The same chimneylike wind towers graced the roofs to catch the breeze, though higher than the ones near the outskirts of the city. Few people milled the streets here. – Frayed Edges, Book 4, The Planar Pages
Kerus is distinctly appealing because of the variety of pantheons worshipped before the Goddess Larrakane revealed Herself. I highly recommend visiting the pyramid on Siamor and the stone face of Larrakane on Ozen. If you can get permission, the elephas have the House of History with the three-hundred-foot painting on Disas and take a longship to visit the Oracle of Stars statues in the Sea of Disas.
Take a chariot to Roma Mikar and stay at the House of Falchus, where you’ll be well fed before you start your next adventure.

Page of Fae, The Court of Copper
The path wound its way through thin streets besieged by copper water on one side and high cream-colored stone and vine-decorated buildings on the other. They passed the massive domed marble temple to Larrakane, faekin streaming in for services, more celebratory than what was seen as worship in Rise or Kerus. But at the end was the jewel that they sought: the Crystal Chest, with its rippling stained glass walls like a see-through treasure box. – Hard Bound, Book 2, The Planar Pages
The Court of Copper takes security very seriously and expects all visitors to travel with a native page turner. So it’s a good job you’re with me, otherwise you’d be considered a spy!
Step aboard one of the beautiful gondolas to traverse the canals. If you’re traveling further inland, hire the wondrous horseless carriages that run on alchemical concoctions. If you’re lucky, you could stay at The Crystal Chest.

Next, a new addition to our tour.
Page of Mycelium and Plantae, Phyta
As they flew on, the lights began to fade and sunlight, a proper sun, met them. The page was utterly transformed. Mushrooms that seemed intimidating took on a dewy, almost playful appearance like giant towers. Verdant vines mixed with pops of starburst and other odd-shaped plants created a kaleidoscope of colors that cascaded down toward the ground, disappearing into a thin green fog. The fog rose up, cooling their skin and carrying the scent of moist earth and a lush, almost exotic garden fragrance. – Pressed, Book 3, The Planar Pages
Not much is known about this Page, but page turners are learning more on every visit. If you meet a local, consider Fiona’s excellent advice on meeting new people – Don’t treat the creatures you encountered any dumber than you would treat yourself.
