With historical fantasy I get to write about history, but for The Planar Pages I added a twist. I created an alternate world that combined aspects of different historical eras. This let me capture the feel of historical periods while also crafting a unique world of my own.
Between the Lines and The Planar Pages series in general, is set in a world of realms with many Renaissance-inspired elements! The clothing and style are some of my favorite things to detail out and be creative with for each of my characters. Protagonist, Fiona Thorne, embraces the striking fashion of that era but with the experienced approach of someone often in mixed company.
It’s theorized all that is heat, radiance, and raw power comes originally from this page. Or, it used to. The page of fire was the hottest place in the cosmology. Blazing flames consumed everything they touched that wasn’t guarded against the fire. But then one day that flame was snuffed out.
