Welcome to The Book of Larrakane Walking Tour. We’ll be following in the footsteps of famous investigator and page turner, Fiona Thorne.
Let’s step into the first Elemental chapter…
Page of Fire, Blaze
There were three layers, like the colors of a sunset laid one on top of the other, in Blaze. The boiling basin roiled with tar-like lava flowing unabated. Sitting on top of the basin was the cap, shifting volcanic rock that most of the cities sat upon as well as the massive volcano that created it. And high above, blocked by fire, ash, and smoke, was A’shar…Where the vast layers ended there was the ink-black nothingness of the page’s edge. – Between the Lines, Book 1, The Planar Pages
Hydrate, folks, it’s the only way to cope with this heat. This is where Fiona befriends Soots, a fire sprite that brings a little light to the overworked investigator's life.
Traveling to a page as vibrant and punishing as Blaze is what made being a page turner so amazing! Many fire creatures call Blaze home.

It’s time to cool off!
Page of Water, Shimmering Depths
Focusing on the Depths, she saw the rushing of the icy blue water as it surged past her and the shape of the Waterfall Palace as she had seen before in paintings…[The] pagemark folded away before her to reveal a wall of rippling, glowing blue-green water. The smell of salt and the sound of it filled her senses. – Hard Bound, Book 2, The Planar Pages
Strong swimmers are welcome in this underwater wonderland. Other modes of travel are available. I recommend staying at the Waterfall Palace hotel, the ideal location for a luxurious rest or to enjoy some romantic seclusion. The mermaids are also very friendly.

Now, it’s time for some fresh air.
Page of Air, Mistral
It was by far the easiest page to turn to and the safest. Not that there weren’t dangers. An errant lightning storm or a territorial air elemental could spell disaster for a skimmer without a guide. – Between the Lines, Book 1, The Planar Pages
Mistral is almost all sky, an excellent place to explore complete freedom of movement, such as free-falling. Forever. If you’re nervous about heights and/or falling, take all the precautions, such as wearing an ornithopter.
It’s here that Fiona first meets charming Captain Henrietta and the crew of Big Betty. If you travel to Airmire, you’ll get to meet the sassy blue swirls who’ll guide you around.

Let’s move on to…
Page of Earth, Cobbles
“We stick to the tunnels already made. It’s the safest way to travel in this page.” – Between the Lines, Book 1, The Planar Pages
Our last stop is usually overlooked by the inhabitants of The Book, which Fiona always said was a mistake. The distinct lack of tourists in Cobbles may be due to the intense gravity and the claustrophobic feeling of being surrounded by so much rock.
Gaili and Fiona search for clues here with the lovely flame sprite Soots leading the way.
Smile at the gnomes, folks. Yes, that hairless beet-colored head above us is a gnome. And there’s another one. You can tell they’re a gnome by their pupilless eyes, wide bulbous noses, and toothless mouths.
